TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (FREIGHT)

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical work required to obtain the most efficient freight transportation services, identify modes of transportation, necessary special equipment and services required for shipments, securing carriers, and advising customers on transportation issues. Examples of specialized experience demonstrate the following:
1) Analyzing material dimensions and weight to determine specific handling, packing, loading or type of carrier tracking or equipment required.; 2) Utilizing comprehensive knowledge of shipping laws, regulations, and procedures related to a wide range of specialized shipments to execute most appropriate mode of shipment and to satisfy the customer's priority.; 3) Communicating with the customer and advising on transportation policy matters, providing tracking information and shipping dates, conducting follow-up transactions, and conducting research.; 4) Utilizing knowledge of standard office filling systems and automated systems for organization and producing records, bills of lading, requisition and invoice/shipping documents, correspondence, logs, or data as needed.; 5) Conducting market research in order to facilitate the purchase of supplies and materials and determine quality and functionality of equipment and supplies. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
