Welder III

SUMMARY Welds together metal components (Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel) of products such as piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding or oxy-acetylene welding equipment RESPONSIBILITIES - Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun. - Connects cables and adjusts welding unit and gasses (as required by specifications) to obtain amperage, voltage, polarity, and pulse, as specified by welding procedure or supervisor. - Starts power supply to produce electric current. - Strikes arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece. - Manually guides electrode or gun along weld-line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. - Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety procedures, safe practices, industry standards, and project rules. Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Must have knowledge of materials, methods, appropriate tools and possess adequate capabilities to construct objects, structures, buildings and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance. Must have the ability to quickly make coordinated movements of one hand, such as a hand together with its arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Must have the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. Must have the ability to concentrate and not be distracted while performing a task over a period of time. Must have the ability to coordinate movements of two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. Position will typically require a high school diploma or equivalent with basic understanding of mathematics and 1-4 years related experience as apprentice, ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen, maintain 40 hour HAZWOPER and applicable 8 hour refresher if required, ability to work in an outdoor environment.
Work location specifics TIG welder must be capable of passing an extensive Badging/Background Check process. Preference is for the individual to have or have had a Security Clearance, D-BIDS, TWIC or Rapid Gate credential. Candidate must be able to provide Weld Logs or previous certifications (6G). Candidate will be welding std. wall 2-12" inch process piping. The "root" pass and the Fill pass will be performed using GTAW welding procedures, the "finish" pass will utilize SMAW welding procedures, for carbon steel pipe, all stainless steel will be welded complete using GTAW welding procedures.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
